Personal Financial Management

 

financeAirman and Family Readiness PFM assists Airmen and their families to improve their personal financial status by learning how to function as informed consumers and more effective money managers.  Assistance is provided to develop a budget based on individual income and expenses; manage credit and current debt; plan for insurance expenses, and prepare for personal financial readiness. 

  • One-on-one financial counseling appointments
  • Budget/spending plan, bank/financial services, and credit/debt management
  • Newcomer’s PFM: Mandatory class Officers at their first-duty station

Career Focus was previously known as Spouse Employment Assistance. The objective is the same—employment assistance.  Career Focus assists family members and other ID card holders with their job search.

Air Force Aid Society

 

The Air Force Aid Society is the official charity of the United States Air Force, incorporated in 1942 as a private, non-profit organization. For over 67 years, the Air Force Aid Society has supported the Air Force mission by providing worldwide emergency assistance, sponsoring education assistance programs and offering an array of base community enhancement programs that improve quality of life for Airmen and their families.

  • Loans and Grants – Given to meet emergency needs in the following areas: food, shelter, utilities, vehicles, funeral expenses for a dependent and in some cases travel to a family member’s funeral
  • General Hap Arnold Education Scholarship - $2000 educational grant for spouses and dependent children
  • Give Parents A Break – AFAS funded program that offers eligible parents a few hours break from the stresses of parenting. CDC provides the care. Commanders, first sergeants or health care providers must refer families
  • Respite Care Program – AFAS funded program for families with special needs children or parents living with the military member
  • Nursing Moms Program - $200 loan available for purchase of a breast pump
  • Youth Employment Skills – Earn money for college by volunteering
