Personal and Family Life Education

 

stressPersonal and Family Life Education assists with adaptation to the stresses of the military lifestyle, as well as improve general family functioning.  Most of the educational programs offered at the center under Personal and Family Life Education are in response to the Air Force needs assessment surveys, targeted toward family and active duty members with family concerns.  Family concerns are defined as relating directly to one or more of the following areas: family stability, family life education, marital and family enrichment, economic issues and the family, minority and cross-cultural families, changing family roles, diversity of family styles, families and work, and family separation.

  • Individual guidance available on all aspects of life
  • Military & Family Life Consultants - MFLCs are available to help service members, spouses, family members, children and staffs address a number of issues including deployment, marriage and relationships, parenting, communication, stress/anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and daily life issues.  No records kept, free, and anonymous. Call 210-632-3231 or 210-632-8145.
  • BMT Spouse Orientation includes fiancées and family members of BMT graduates.  Information about moving, finances, medical/dental benefits, Airman & Family Readiness Flight programs, and other aspects of Air Force life
  • Bundles for Babies – An informational session on care of newborns includes speakers from PFM, HAWC, Family Advocacy, Pediatric Clinic, and Safety
  • Special Programs and Outreach Services -  Special programs are offered to recognize the military family and support members in special circumstances, such as  i.e. single parents, military members in confinements, families with special needs, blended families, and families with adopted/foster children

Casualty/Survivor Benefits Program (SBP)

 

Air Force Casualty Services provides dignified and compassionate notification of death, duty status, missing or captured, to family members as promptly as possible. There are three offices that are open Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You may reach a Casualty Assistance Representative or Survivor Benefit Counselor by calling one of the numbers below.
