PAB Mission Statement

 

The parent advisory board for Lackland AFB works hand in hand with the Child Development Centers (CDC’s) and Family Child Care (FCC) to foster an environment of continued learning and growth. Proceeds from our fund raisers go towards activities that support the function of the CDC’s and FCC and also to provide activities and events which promote family interaction. If you would like more information about the PAB, please inquire at one of the Child Development Centers or the Family Child Care office or contact any board member.

 

 

 

PAB Parent Incentives Program

 

The following narrative summarizes the parent incentives program as it was agreed upon in the committee meeting on 27 October 2008. Directors from each CDC and SSgt Wellman were present at the meeting.

The core idea of the program is to offer parents in the CDC program an incentive to attend and volunteer at PAB/CDC sponsored meetings and events. Certificates will be signed and presented to the parent by their CDC director upon fulfillment of the activity requirement. The directors will maintain a log of all coupons. The coupons can then be used to pay for a portion of their childcare bill. The maximum discount per individual per fiscal year is $400. The following options are available for accruing incentives in the program:

1. $200 per 6-Month term while serving as a PAB Board Member (PAB Chair, CDC Co-Chair representative, Treasurer, Secretary)

2. $25 for individuals who volunteer to chair an event/fundraiser (Labels for education, Cookie Dough fundraiser, End of Summer Picnic)

3. $10 for attendance at PAB meeting – available to non-board members only

4. $10 for volunteering to help at PAB/or CDC sponsored event for a 2 hour minimum time period (preparing plates at BBQ, taking registrations at 5K)

The program will be run with the stipulation that it can be altered or terminated at any time due to the financial standing of the CDC programs.

Nominations for Provider of the Quarter or Year

1. Any person/parent/provider may nominate a provider from Gateway CDC, Kelly CDC, Lackland CDC or Family Child Care.
2. Fill out the provided form and return to a CDC/FCC director or PAB board member by the last PAB meeting of the quarter.  This can be done by physically handing the nomination form to a CDC/FCC director, brining the package to the PAB meeting or emailing the nomination package to one of the PAB board members. Location of PAB board member’s email addresses are on the PAB website.

The quarters are as follows:
Jan – Mar – Nominations due at March Meeting
April – June – Nominations due at June Meeting
July – Sept – Nominations due at September Meeting
Oct – Dec – Nominations due at December Meeting

1. There will be one winner for each CDC & FCC per quarter.  If no one is nominated there will not be a winner for that particular CDC or FCC.
2. The yearly package will be due at the December meeting and will include events from the entire year.
3. A nominee does not have to win a quarterly award in order to be nominated for the yearly package.  Any provider is eligible for the yearly award.
4. The packages will be voted on at the PAB meeting in which they are submitted.  All parents attending the meeting will be asked to vote on the packages.
5. The same providers can receive the quarterly and yearly award consecutively.
6. The quarterly awards will be certificates presented at the following PAB meeting.
7. The yearly award will be a gift certificate to a local merchant.
